Women’s Self Defense Classes in Fargo

Learning self defense changes the way you move through the world.
At Fargo BJJ, our women’s self defense training focuses on practical skills that work in real situations — not choreographed techniques or cardio kickboxing disguised as self defense.

Our program is built on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the same system trusted by military units, law enforcement officers, and professional fighters around the world.

Most importantly, our women’s program is led by Professor Sarah, a 4th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, world-class competitor, and experienced educator who has dedicated her career to helping women develop real confidence and capability.

Learning self defense isn’t about becoming aggressive — it’s about becoming capable.
Take the first step in a safe and supportive training environment.

WHY WOMEN CHOOSE SELF DEFENSE TRAINING

Many women begin training for different reasons:

• wanting to feel safer
• gaining confidence in unfamiliar environments
• learning how to escape dangerous situations
• improving strength and fitness
• overcoming fear of physical confrontation

But what they often discover is something even more powerful — the confidence that comes from knowing they are capable of protecting themselves.

Self defense training isn’t about living in fear.

It’s about removing it.

WHY BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU WORKS FOR WOMEN

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was specifically developed so a smaller person could defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent.

Instead of relying on strength or aggression, BJJ teaches:

• leverage
• positioning
• balance
• timing
• control

This allows someone to escape bad positions, defend against grabs or chokes, and neutralize a larger attacker.

These techniques are practiced with resisting partners in a controlled environment so they become instinctive under pressure.

That’s what builds real confidence.

The hardest part of learning self defense is walking through the door the first time.
After that, we guide you every step of the way.
